EASY
STEPS TO TAKING BACK YOUR GOVERNMENT NOW
PART ONE: Going beyond the
Radio Talk Shows
We have the luxury in our offices of being
able to listen to the major radio talk shows. Most people don’t, and therein
lies a great lesson.
The major
media news outlets, NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, have lost over half their audiences in
the past twenty years. Where these audiences have gone is to local news and
cable. But not just cable news, like Fox News, but also to old Leave it to Beaver re-runs. Millions
have tuned out national news altogether. Whatever the national news media is
selling, the common man obviously isn’t buying, leaving the Big Four with a
smaller, but more dedicated cadre of liberal-to-left wing news junkies.
Free market
analysts have been scratching their heads for years, especially with the
success at Fox, why at least one or two haven’t broken ranks and tried to get
some of that audience back. As Hollywood
found out about God, Truth also sells. But the Big Four’s current product
reflects that they know this core audience, and as long as their advertisers
and owners allow this type of news, they’ll keep distributing it. Me or anyone
else calling them biased doesn’t matter. As with bureaucrats and politicians,
you should never get mad at dogs for being dogs (Moses Sands). But that does
not mean there aren’t ways to deal with them.
Where millions
have gone, of course, is to what they call the alternative media, both talk
radio (Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, and others), which is news plus
opinion/analysis, and the internet. The conservative view of politics owns the
talk radio format, as liberalism not only can’t come up with a competitive
voice, it can’t in the more absolute scientific
sense of the term. There’s nothing it has to say that radio listeners want to
hear, anymore than anyone wanted to listen to those daily radio broadcasts the
Soviets piped into every kitchen in Russia. Liberalism really doesn’t
care about getting its message out anymore than it already does. It simply
wants to shut up any other voices out there, just as it already has on college
campuses.
At this
writing talk radio is the lone hold-out, since thanks to the likes of George
Soros, the internet, where no standards for truth exist at all, and corporate
bosses, the bottom line and advertisers have no say about content, the few
truth-telling outlets and blogs, e.g, The Drudge Report, have been entirely
swamped by insipidity.
But the major
problems with talk radio are three, so take note: Even as network news has
plummeted, talk radio reaches only a fraction of the ears the Big Four do.
Second, It can’t grow much larger, for at any given time, not that many people
can listen to talk radio than already do, due to their jobs. Only Hannity is
aired after work hours in most markets. Worse, this disability affects (in our
view) those who most need to be revitalized about the Constitution, their
liberty and sinking condition of both. This is the common man and woman, most
of who are watching soaps, or listening to FM rock, classic rock and country. While
truckers may love Rush, he might be stunned to learn how many bank employees,
factory workers at GM, and store clerks have never heard his voice, not even
once. And forget the younger set, music still out-polls talk radio by a
significant margin. Third, the titans of talk radio have become so wealthy in
this niche economy they created they really don’t seem too eager to branch out
into involving themselves with still other alternative projects that might help
ignite the new restoration.
They are in a
rut of sorts, as we all know the problem(s) but knowledge alone is neither
action not solution.
This is our
sole complaint with talk radio, for when, as has been the case in growing
numbers, from 2006 forward, and in cacophonous monotony since the early
primaries and the nomination of McCain (who we clearly don’t like very much),
“OK, we get it. So what can we do about it? Now!”, their answers all remind me
of Jackie Gleason’s famous line, “Hommina, hommina, hommina.” Wait till 2010,
or 2012. It took a Carter to give us a Reagan (forgetting that it took a Nixon
to give us a Carter).
On this site
I’ve cautioned against the notion that nothing can be done this election cycle.
Moreover, we believe that the bullet we dodged in 1992, when a Democrat in the
White House joined up with a sizeable majority of his party in Congress, may be
full metal jacket in 2009. It was the Clintons’
own narcissism and avarice, and a flair for petty potentatism, that allowed us
to regain Congress in 1994. They could have done much damage, but didn’t.
But what has
changed is that true believers, not fat cat Democrats, now run both the Party
and Congress, and if a like-minded true believer becomes President, much of the
damage they can do in 2009-2010, may be irreparable. Remember the old threat a
radical environmental lawyer told me in 1971…once we get power we will make it
illegal for anyone else to get power using the same tools…in which case,
instead of looking for a Reagan, we may have to be looking for a Pinochet.
Allende wrote the textbook on what I’d just as soon prevent, if possible.
There is much
that can be done now, especially in making politicians…all of them, at every
level, including Reid and Pelosi, in their own states and districts, very
afraid…with a fear that even high powered money and donors cannot dampen. So
read Part II.
One of the
things we do here is study how things work inside a culture. Recalling that
only about 25% of the Americans started the fight against the English, we know
that it doesn’t require a majority commitment by the people to overthrow
tyranny. We believe that when Good meets Evil head-on, with an equal force,
Evil always abandons the field. This
is an article of faith that goes all the way back to Satan’s envy and hatred of
God. If he were equal to or stronger than God he would have cast God out,
instead of the other way around.
We also know
that most people, when there is a fight brewing, will sidle off to the side
until they see who looks like he’s winning, then cast their lot with him.
That’s why while only 25% started the Revolution, more like 75% finished it.
Except for the most craven society, people naturally understand Good and Evil,
with or without the help of the Constitution and Bible, and will chose Good
once the path is laid open to them as to how they can best do it.
We earlier asked
the talk show titans to sit down with each other and draft a “95 theses”
platform (probably not more than 20-25 are actually required) that every
citizen can hang on the courthouse door of every burg, city, and capital in
America. A flag and fight song wouldn’t hurt.
We believe it is
actually easy, as Moses Sands once said, to remove George Soros from the place
he is in now and for only a fraction of what he spent getting there.
