We were supposed to only know about the Marxist connection of Obama and several members of the Democrat Party leadership after the election. But Barack's slip with Joe the Plumber made the redistributive aspects of socialist out for all to see.
The Obama campaign faced a crucible of sorts, 1) to deny, deny, deny (which in select markets, i.e., older folks, they have, sort of) or say, what the hey, America's ready for this "change". Besides, in Obama double-speak that's exactly what he's been talking about all along. Almost all of Obama's lingo has a double-meaning if you look for it.
It seems in many quarters, especially the under-40 crowd, there was a certain amount of ambivalence about socialism. For one, McCain underplayed the Bill Ayers connection, the same with ACORN. He went after both for the wrong sins. So it seems the Obama crowd seems to be riding high (and dirty) with a new found sense of relief that at least to a lot people, they no longer have to lie.
I remain constantly amazed at how poorly the message is getting out as to just exactly what happens when socialists get in control, what they must "confiscate" in order "re-distribute" wealth for instance, or the jobs that must shift from the private sector to the public sector, and most of all, what socialist do to make sure the people can't so easily throw them out office once buyer's remorse sets it, two or three years hence. It will take three generations to undo it. And yes, if you think Ol' Betsy over the mantle will fix it, think again. They have a plan for that too.
